Hi! I’m Janet.
I’ve worked with hair since I was just a kid working in my aunt’s salon. At 16, I was already working in a hair salon in Corona Queens, where I met the amazing Felicia who took me under her wing and helped me hone my craft.
The older I got, the more my passion grew and I realized that I wanted to have a business of my own. I worked hard to pay for my qualifications, and graduated with an associates degree in business.
I knew in my heart that my true calling was hairstyling. I wanted to put my degree to good use and start my own salon where I could work with other artists. So I went to Arrojo cosmetology school in SoHo, NYC, where I knew I would get the best hairstyling education from the best in the industry: the amazing Nick Arrojo.
Once I completed my qualifications I was ready for a bit more real-world experience. I worked at Redken 5th Avenue Salon and Bumble and Bumble salon. During this time, I was also doing side gigs for bridal hair. The hard work and long hours I was putting in paid off massively when I decided to open my own company in NYC.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with several celebrities and socialites such as Pryanka Chopra, Diana Ross, Naomi Watts, Winona Ryder, and Kim Cattrall. In my journey as a hairstylist, I realized that I love to work with brides. In between working on brides, I work on sets with models and photographers. I've been hired to do runway shows for several affluent Bridal dress companies in NYC, like Bridal Reflections, Designer Loft, Kleinfelds, Panach, RK Bridal, and Pronovias. In addition, I’ve had the honor of working for the Wall Group Agency, one of New York’s top hair and makeup agencies. I have worked in fashion editorial shoots for ELLE India, Vogue, Net-a-Porter, and Saks 5th Ave catalogs. I have also worked as Lead Hairstylist for numerous bridal Fashion Week shows with designers Pnina Tornai, Mark Zunino, and Yumi Katsura.
Styling hair and working with brides has definitely been a direction in my career that I truly love. I enjoy the process of creating hairstyles that look modern, flawless and natural. I'm an expert at creating hairstyles that look beautiful and last throughout the wedding and look great in camera and video.
My journey as a New York hairstylist has allowed me to truly showcase my creativity and at the same time, it really lifts my spirits to see how good I can make my clients feel. The satisfaction I get from helping brides find their perfect look and to see them off to their wedding/event feeling like a goddess is truly inexpressible.
